alright, steve and i had talked about this before, but i figured id open the invitation up to anyone. the feds course is literally 5 minutes from where i go to school. if anyone wants to come down at any point in the season, stay overnight at my humble abode, and then run on the course, id be more than happy to have you. my room could probably accomodate 4-6 people (not counting myself as i'll seek other accomodations 2 doors down the hall).
almost any saturday night would work, or the weekend of 9/24 when i have no meet. the weekend of 9/17 is bad (girlfriends birthday), but other than that it looks like anything could work. also, theres like 2 weeks when im there and youre not in school yet, so that could work to. weeknights are fine.
alright so there it is. word.
edit: oh and for those who were wondering, its about a 2h20m drive from here to there. also, if youre interested in looking at colleges, we've got The Home of the Pink Pansies, marist, new paltz, culinary institute, and bard all right there.

Ya Jamie, this definatly sounds like a great idea. I think we should do it on a weekend when we don't have a meet, I forget what weekend that is. Or, do it more towrds the end of the season so it will be fresh in our minds. Or we can just do it any random weekend or even before school starts...whatever. I just think we should definatly do it. I don't want the first time we see this course again to be the morning of the race like it was last year. On a seperate note, sorta. I think we should talk to Coach and Mr. Stewart soon, like maybe when official practice starts and ask about having Feds being a stay over trip. I mean, this year we will be shooting for a much better place than last year and I think it would be nice to not have to drive 2hrs on a bus the morning of to get to the race. This way, we can relax, get a good nigths sleep and walk the course in the morning without being rushed. So if we talk to them early enough maybe we can organize some kind of fund raiser or get some money somehow if the school is too cheap to cough it up.

i wouldnt care paying for a room out of my own pocket Actually Tom, thats a good point. I mean, for 7 runners we would need like what, 2 rooms. We could probably find a decent hotel for like $60 bucks a night, and then when you divide that by 7 its less than $20 bucks each. I wouldn't mind forking over 20 bucks.

that would completely defeat the purpose. now youve got 3 runners sleeping on the floor...or awkwardly in bed with a teammate. either way youre uncomfortable and wont sleep well. bad idea. if youre gonna get a hotel, get 5 rooms (8 runners including an alternate, plus 2 coaches)
$300. you could squeeze that out of varsity club/booster club in a flash

Well I wasn't including Coaches or an alternate. And there are these things called air mattresses and cots. But ya, 5 rooms would be much nicer if we could get the money, but if not, we could deal with 2. But even then...$300 bucks divided 10 ways(2 coaches and 8 runners) is still only 30 bucks. Which is no big deal either so we could still pay our own way for 5 rooms.

But steve, the whole object is to squeeze the money we need out of the school, I mean come on, they spend the least amount of money on our team out of the rest of the school teams.

Well after all the money we earned for JO's and all the money we are going to earn with our Invy and States they really have no excuse not to spend money on us.

so anyway, back to the purpose of this thread.
im going to throw a date out there. thursday september 1st.
ill have a pool-ish workout that day, done by 5. if you guys got down there after 5 (which, i would assume, would be after your practice), you could stay thursday night. now thursday night is gonna be really chill for me because i have a race saturday. i.e. no partying, probably just chillin out around the dorm watching TV or a movie or something. then friday is OYO and i have no class, so i could run the course easy with you guys and then grab some lunch before sending you off.
hows everyone like that one.
