wow...they're really not having you do a whole lot besides miles... weird. no hills? no real tempo runs? no fartleks? i've never seen anything like that

Well, the uptempo runs are kind of tempo runs, probably a bit easier. They're supposed to be done by feel, not pace. But no, no hill repeats or fartleks. I talked with him about hills and he said to just find a hilly loop on a distance day and push the hills...like we do for the QBY summer work outs. But he specifically said no hill repeats.
The whole point is uping the mileage without uping the intensity, which will prevent injury.

This week's mileage, just added up...86.78 miles. A new lifetime high. Oh, and Jamie, in response to the post above, he didn't have anything in the training about Moutain runs (I doubt everyone has the easy access to a good Mtn. route like we do) but I threw two of them in so far this summer anyway. I might do a third this Tueday, or might be doing some other run...not sure yet. And actually he just sent us an email that said now that we're getting toawrds the end of the summer we should throw in some fartlek's like 10x 1 min on, 2 min off or so. (Haha Jared, we already did double that with less rest.)
