you dont hafta be an adirondack runner, you hafta be registered with the USATF adirondack association...some people might have to register but its not a big deal. i look into it a little further.
now if we qualified as a team...would we actually go to regionals? i mean, another 10 mile race this summer could be bad for your program and mine...if i told my coach hed flip.

Wait, I don't know if I want to register with USTAF, thats like another $20 on top of the $20 or so Im paying for the race. I mean, this thing isn't worth $40. But if its not that expensive then maybe. And ya, I would have to say no to Regionals. Sully didn't want us doing too many races this summer, thats why Im probably not going to the Race the Train this year even though I really liked that race.

heres the deal. 3-5 people make a team, 3 people score. we'd be running in the open male team category, which is ages 39 and under. everyone on the team would register for the race individually, then id fill out the team application. i need everyone's USATF number. if you havent run any USATF sanctioned events since 2003 (JOs, stuff like that) then you have to renew your membership ($15-$20). if you ran JOs for track or xc in 2004, youre probably still registered. you can probably find out on their website.
im not sure where the Region 1 championship is, and most likely i wont even be here for it (unless its august). but still, i think it would be fun to make a team.
whoever's interested, lemme know, and we'll see what happens.

Jamie, I would be interested, but Im not currently a USTAF member. I was for my sophomore year, but thats long expired by now. Ill run it by my paretns to see if they'll cough up the dough, but if they don't then I can't do it. I don't have $40 to use on one race. If they'll pay for me Ill do it though so I'll have to get back to you on that. PS-Do you know if I registered now would it still be good for the 2005 XC season JO's?

well then.
steve dominated the entire race...(relatively speaking) running most of it in 6th and finishing 4th in 56:XX.
raymond ACTUALLY dominated, blowing everyone away in 53:XX
jared and i ran together for 7ish miles and then he pulled ahead, going on to finish around 20th i believe...62 something?
i finished just ahead of jessen and the #1 female in 26th place. 63:56...like 1-2 seconds faster than last year i think.
decent race overall. it hurt, of course.
oh yeah, cara ran and finished as well, i dunno how she did.

Cara won her age group with something like 75 minutes. I got 19th and maybe 3rd( ) in my age group with 1:02:55. I was about 15 seconds behind Frost-Tift.

It was a good race. I ran 56:50, which is 5:41 miles. It was pretty frekin hard, I've never had a race take so much out of me before. But it was fun. Raymond kicked ass of course. It was in today's paper and there was a small picture of him on the front page. In the article he said he went out a little too fast, running his first mile in 5:06. Thats frekin crazy!!! Thats what I run for my 5K miles, on a good day...

Thanks Jamie, and yes I do have your "award" and I'll give it to you at the next run. I can't believe I waited around an hour for it though. It's just this stupid green bag that says the race, date, and Award Winner on it. I'm like, what the hell am I supposed to do with this? I thought they were going to give out those mugs that they had there, but I guess not. They had like a whole bunch of them, I don't know what they were for.
