Steve, 110 miles per week is about 15.5 miles per day. That sounds like alot to me. Around two? hours per day give or take a half hour. Bad Idea? ?? Your ignorance is stinking up this thread

So it's not 7 15mile runs. You can do a 9 and 6 on some days instead. And I've gone over 100 a few times before and I'm still standing. I just have to make sure I don't do it the week after the Boilermaker this time.

100 in singles is way more fun than doubling. Plus when you hit anything over 100 you can eat pretty much whatever you want cause 1.) cause you burn off whatever you eat. 2.) You'll be hurt again soon and back on a restricted diet. Thank you don kardong.

only jared would justify high mileage based on what he can eat.

Actually, concerning that, I'm finding that with high mileage you can eat a lot more. Like I'll eat huge meals during a 100 mile week and not gain a thing. Actually I was losing weight. And once you do that high mileage for a consistent time, I feel like even when you drop the mileage your metabolism (sp?) keeps going. Like I stopped running a month ago and have been pretty much eating whatever crappy foods I want seeing as how I'm not running and don't know when I will be. And I didn't weigh myself at all cause I was afriad I'd like have gained a ton of weight which would just add to my depression. But I finally bit the bullet yesterday and even after eating lunch I was 134.4. Back when I was running the high mileage I would be 129-131 after runs and 133-135 after meals. So I really havne't gained much apparently, which I attribute to the high mileage I was running...because I definitely can't contribute it to diet or cross training since I've been eating plenty of junk food and haven't been cross training.
So ya, high mileage is a pretty cool deal...as long as you don't get injured. And for the record I'm not injured casue I did high mileage, I'm injured cause I did the highest mileage of my life the week after one of the longest/most intense races of my life and also threw an intense mountain workout in there. So ya, high mileage is fine just as long as you do it right.
